Self-discrepancies and Life Satisfaction of Adolescents Saedi Drama Viewers

Abstract

The current study covered several aspects: a field, analytical and psychological, the aim of the present research was to examine relation between self-discrepancies, life satisfaction and Saedi drama exposure, as well as differences according to gender and growth stage in self-discrepancies to a main sample of 553 from adolescents in Upper-Egypt. Analytical study included four series of Saedi drama. Using tools prepared by the researchers, the appropriate statistical methods were used, the results of this study indicate that self-discrepancies levels of adolescents’ sample were high and medium, the correlation between self-discrepancies and life satisfaction was negative. There was a significant negative correlation between real self-discrepancies and Saedi drama exposure, and no significant correlation with the other three self-discrepancies dimensions and Saedi drama, a significant negative correlation between life satisfaction and Saedi drama exposure, and the differences of self-discrepancies according to gender and growth stage was significant.
