Digital Stress and Its relationship to Professional Burnout among Faculty Members In light of some Demographic Variable

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the level of Digital stress and professional burnout among faculty members in University of Kafr El Sheikh, the relationship between Digital stress and professional burnout, and the differences of Digital stress and professional burnout among faculty members by reaction of kind (male/ female), specialty (Scientific/ Literature), and Scientific degree (Prof./ Assistant Prof./ lecturer), The research sample consisted of (300) faculty members in University of Kafr El Sheikh, as (134 male, 166 female), their age ranged between (30-73) years, with an average of (46.78) years, and a standard deviation of (±5.59), and as (171) from Literature faculties (education, arts and specific education), and (129) from scientific faculties (science, nursing and agriculture), The research tools were Digital stress scale (prepared by/ the researcher), and professional burnout scale (prepared by/ Schaufeli, Desart & De Witte (2020), translated by/ the researcher), The research results revealed that there is a high level of Digital stress and professional burnout among faculty members in University of Kafr El Sheikh, positive correlation between Digital stress and professional burnout among faculty members, the possibility of predicting of professional burnout through dimensions of Digital stress among faculty members, and there is a statistically significant effect according to reaction between kind (males and females) and specialty (scientific and literary) and Scientific degree (Prof./ Assistant Prof./ lecturer), on Digital stress and professional burnout among faculty members, The current study recommends conducting more studies on the causes of professional burnout and its consequences, due to its disastrous effects on job satisfaction and the professional future of faculty members.
