Abstract

This research leverages Matthew Lipman's "philosophy for children" model in an interdisciplinary study that blended literary criticism, philosophy, and education. Analyzing forty-five stories from the King Abdulaziz Public Library for Children, it sought to illuminate the philosophical underpinnings within these narratives, encompassing aspects such as typologies, themes, and ethical values. The study explored the narrative structure and discourse, while evaluating its relevance to diverse age groups and its alignment with the Saudi cultural identity. Concluding with a proposal for a conceptual model to infuse philosophy into Saudi children's literature, it aligned with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. This initiative aspired to enhance the Saudi identity by intertwining Islamic principles with global viewpoints, pursuant to King Salman's strategy for advancing human capabilities.
