Abstract

This research aimed to detect The Effectiveness of a Training Program Based on some of Self-Management skills in reducing intellectual distraction and negative academic emotions among social Media addicted Faculty of Education students, the research sample consisted of (44) (male and female) university students in (2nd) university year, faculty of Education, University of Kafr El Sheikh, age between (19-20) years, with age mean (19.43) year and deviation (±0.24), divided into (2) equivalent groups: an experimental group (22) (male and female) university students had the Training on some of Self-Management skills and a control group (22) (male and female) university students hadn't the Training on some of Self-Management skills, and the research tools included social Media addiction scale (prepared by/ Omran, 2017), Self-Management scale (prepared by/ Radwan, 2013), intellectual distraction scale (prepared by/ Mahdy, 2022),  Academic emotions questionnaire (part of negative academic emotions) (prepared by/ Saqr & Abo Qura, 2023) and the training program on some of Self-Management skills (prepared by/ the researcher), The research relied on the quasi-experimental approach, and by using the t-test to indicate the differences between the paired and independent means, the research reached a set of results, as there are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental and control groups students in the post-measurement on intellectual distraction and negative academic emotions scales for the experimental group, there are statistically significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group students in the post- and follow-up measurement on intellectual distraction and negative academic emotions scale for the follow-up measurement; that refers to that Training Program Based on some of Self-Management skills had effectiveness in reducing intellectual distraction and negative academic emotions among social Media addicted Faculty of Education students.
